Winter, December through February, will round out Camp Ara's seasonal programming calendar. Camp Ara will expand its outdoor programs to accompany the change in temperatures and weather. The grounds of the camp will provide unique winter activities during community events, retreats, and winter camps. Specifically, Camp Ara will host a winter survival retreats, and develop a curriculum to cater to a winter homeschool camp. Check out our winter programs below!

Camp Ara runs weekend programs year-round. Our goal is to provide weekends away for everyone. Family Retreats, Art Retreats, and Marriage Retreats, just to name a few. We strive to make these unique weekend experiences that you walk away from feeling refreshed and reconnected with the ones you come with. Our weekend programs during the winter are no exception! We ensure the cold isn't going to keep you from having an amazing weekend. In order to make your weekend the best it can be, here is what you need to know and to bring.
Camp Ara's sleeping accommodations are twin bunks. You will need to bring all bedding.
Your accommodations will include shower access, you only need to bring your toiletries and a towel.
We will host activities both in and outdoors. Please ensure you bring clothing appropriate to the expected weather so you are completely comfortable outdoors.
Feel free to bring anything you'd like, but we do provide all meals while you're staying with us. We also have our camp store open throughout the weekend with snacks, gourmet coffees, lattes, frappes, etc.

It's like summer camp only better! Mid school year camp for homeschoolers. Escape from the usual homeschool routine and join us with your child for a week of exciting learning as we live the story of “Hatchet”, by Gary Paulsen!
